Tour to Feature Hits from Moving Pictures Album; Tickets on Sale Saturday, May 1 at 10 a.m.
LAS VEGAS – The sensational Canadian trio of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart – better known as RUSH – will bring “The Time Machine Tour” to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, Aug. 14. The concert, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., will feature Rush’s classic hits and feature the legendary Moving Pictures album live in its entirety. This summer’s tour will begin in June and will visit approximately 40 cities throughout North America including Boston, Denver and Dallas.
Tickets priced at $150, $85 and $55, not including applicable service charges and taxes, go on sale Saturday, May 1 at 10 a.m. and will be sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino). Rush is one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history and is currently working on its 20th studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (co-producer from 2007’s Snakes & Arrows). The band has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and garnered untold legions of devoted and admiring fans. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Rush’s sales statistics place them third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for having achieved the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band.
Released in 1981, Moving Pictures is Rush’s most successful album which also was certified four-times platinum. It features some of the band’s most popular songs and perennial radio favorites including “Tom Sawyer,” “Limelight” and the GRAMMY®-nominated instrumental “YYZ.”
Inducted into the Canadian Songwriters’ Hall of Fame in March alongside Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Gordon Lightfoot, Rush has been nominated for multiple GRAMMY Awards and won a number of Juno Awards. The group also was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and bestowed the Order of Canada in 1997. Consistently celebrated and respected worldwide, Rush is the most successful Canadian rock band in history and remains one of the largest-grossing arena rock bands.
