VIRGIN MOBILE PRESENTS THE MONSTER BALL TOUR STARRING LADY GAGA AND SPECIAL GUESTS SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS

Tour an Early Overwhelming Success with Sell-outs Across North America; Tickets on Sale Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m.

LAS VEGAS – Live Nation, the international tour promoter for the popular singer/songwriter Lady Gaga, has announced “The Monster Ball Tour” presented by Virgin Mobile will make a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Aug. 13 along with special guests Semi Precious Weapons. With Lady Gaga’s flair for the theatrical, combined with her innovative and creative spirit, “The Monster Ball Tour” promises to push the limits of the live concert experience bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they’ve experienced at previous shows. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets priced at $175, $85 (general admission and reserved seating) and $49.50, not including applicable service charges and taxes, go on sale Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m. and will be sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino). Lady Gaga is touring in support of The Fame Monster, her most recent album released in November 2009 by Streamline/Konlive/Cherrytree/Interscope. The album is the follow-up to the 2008 GRAMMY Award-winning album The Fame which spawned the No. 1 singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” The two albums have sold a combined 10 million albums worldwide. Five of Lady Gaga’s popular hits – “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Lovegame,” “Paparazzi” and “Bad Romance” – have sold more than 30 million singles worldwide.

“It’s still called Monster Ball but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” said Lady Gaga in a February interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that my friends and I are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.”

To date, 16 of the tour’s shows have sold out including three in New York, two in Los Angeles, two in Boston and two in San Jose. The additional sold-out dates include shows in Toronto, Vancouver, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Cleveland, Oklahoma City and Kansas City. The MGM Grand Garden Arena is home to concerts, championship boxing and premier sporting and special events. The Arena offers comfortable seating for as many as 16,800 with excellent sightlines and state-of-the-art acoustics, lighting and sound.
